How many pieces can I submit for application?
You can submit up to six pieces, bearing in mind that all of them may not be accepted.

Why do I need to submit 15 images if I only want to submit one artwork?
This is to allow that the judges an overview of the type of work you do when they make their selection.

How do I indicate which artwork I’d like to submit for selection?
Please mark the work as such or number the specific work.

Photos don’t do my work justice – it looks better in person. How do I improve my chances of selection?
Unfortunately our selectors are based internationally so it is not possible to submit in any other way besides photographs.

What size should the images be?
The photographs can be any size but need to be high resolution (300dpi) with a minimum file size of 2MB per image.

Images are too big to send via email, how should I send it?
Please send via www.wetransfer.com. Use the applications@artafricamagazine.org email address.

In which format should I submit the images?
Images should be submitted as jpg.

What is the deadline to enter artwork for submission?
The deadline has been extended to Sunday, 15 January 2017 at 23:59pm.

We are a collective – should our bio be about the collective or the individual members, or both?
Please submit bios on the individual artists within the collective, in addition to a statement by the collective.

Does ART AFRICA FAIR get commission on sales of artwork or does the artist get all the money?
No commission is taken by ART AFRICA FAIR as you pay for the stand, but a 10% administration fee on will be charged on any work sold.

What is the price to participate in ART AFRICA FAIR 2017?
R1 800 per square meter or running metre.

Who is on the selection panel? 
The selection panel is made up of our curatorial team – Salimata Diop, Uche Okpa-Iroha, Pierre-Christophe Gam, Thembinkosi Goniwe and Ruzy Rusike – as well as Brendon and Suzette Bell-Roberts who are the Founders of ART AFRICA.

We are an art gallery – can we submit individual artists for selection? How are we acknowledged? 
Each artist’s label will bear the name of their representative gallery. You may have your own payment system at the administration desk or Manic Global will process the payment and charge a 10% admin fee.
